It's Summertime

Hey folks, I don't know how many people read this, but I just thought I'd give a nice little pre-Bonnaroo summer time post. Today I checked out Luna Music's Sidewalk sale and got some great stuff, each for a dollar. I found albums by Arco, Jim Guthrie, Skating Club, Andrew Morgan, Living Things, Colin Clary and the Magogs, The Sun, and Built By Alaska all for a dollar a peice. Making things even better, I found singles for Athlete's "Half Light" and the Rock N Roll Soldiers "Anthem" (edited so I can play it on the show) and a World Leader Pretend EP. The two jems of the buy however were easily the soundtrack to the "Aristocrats" which has Gilbert Godfried, Sarah Silverman and Bob Saget (all three the best in the film) and a disc which I originally thought was a Bright Eyes single, but turned out to be "I'm Wide Awake It's Morning." All for a dollar! How wonderful! Other albums I've been groovin' to in the early part of the summer here have been (with my review):
-Gnarls Barkley- "St. Elsewhere" (5 stars)
-The Streets- "The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living" (3.5 stars)
-The Walkmen- "A Hundred Miles Off" (4 stars)
-The Raconteurs- "Broken Boy Soldiers" (4 stars)
-Josh Ritter- "The Animal Years" (3 stars)
-Beirut- "Gulag Orkestar" (4 stars)

I'll have more to post after Bonnaroo, including word on new Radiohead tracks...
